Lesson Frequency How frequently should a beginner take lessons????????? I'm kinda thinking that maybe once a month and that the 30 intervening days should be used to work on the stuff that you learned in the previous lesson. I am 56 year old male and "took up" golf about two months ago. I am already hooked for life. I am trying to learn the game, the swing and the shots in "the right way". I have not yet had a lesson from a teaching professional although I will do so very soon. I have been reading (a lot) about the swing as well as the game. I have been practicing my ball striking --A LOT and have developed some concept of a swing. I think that now that I can hit the ball in a reasonable fashion (i.e. no one at the driving range still laughs at my whiffs or what used to be a horrendous slice). Please give me some advice on how to learn the game and the swing in the right way. Thanks, Jim

Re: Lesson Frequency The frequency of your lessons will be largely influenced by how much you can practice between them - but you know this already. Why not start at a 3 week interval, then go from there? If 3 weeks is too long, you can shorten up. If it's not enough time, you can lengthen it out.

Re: Lesson Frequency Right LowPost, I ask a minimum of 4 hours practice between lessons. That is usually a week for most serious players, 2 weeks for the average and about 3-4 weeks for a beginner. Anything more and you are paying the pro to watch you practice.
