Taylor Made is made for me!
Well, I’ve finally had the chance to use the Taylor Made fairway woods (3 & 5, 580 series) I purchased a few weeks back. Yesterday on Splendido, a really tough course with punishing OBs, I clobbered my three wood but could not control where it was going, which kind of took the thrill out of it. I figured it was going far, but was more concerned that I was OB all the time. Reasonable with that course.

I got up early this morning and figured I’d hit the Navy course since I was up, less punishing and also having the added benefit of some long holes where these woods could come in handy.

I am astonished at how far I hit this three wood! I hit short at 250 and long at 280. 280 is a dream for a golfer like me. Mostly I was just plain happy being anywhere between those two totals and sitting on the fairways most of the time. The only mis-hits came when I tried to clobber the ball. The best results were at my 85% swing.

The prospects for improvement look great from here, if only I can stick to basics. Easier siad than done. The great news also is that I get my R5 N driver today, which makes me wonder what is in store for me with an 85% swing with that baby!

It is nice to know that the golf gods do occasionally give a dog his day.
