Driving on Softer Fairways

Guys, I played my first round of golf in over 5 months today...I had a nice Birdie but I also had a ton of bogies and a couple doubles. Anyways, Whenever I would drive the ball I would carry it like 240-250 and it wouldnt roll one bit...and it really gave me a loss of confidence. Should I be gettting down on myself about this? I mean the fairways were really soft because the course opened like a week ago but I mean how much roll do you think id get if i carried it like 240-250 on a level fairway? (I have a 10.5 driver)

Dont worry, after having 5 months off you should expect this, it was the same when i took simillar time off not playing. The encouraging thing is that you got in a birdie and finished the holes out... Itll take a few rounds too get back in the swing off things. As for your drives.. maybe your teeing it up a bit too high... what kind off ball flight do you get.

Id say its a mid trajectory, but yeah Im playing today so I think Ill try teeing it up a bit lower. I wouldnt say I drive it too high or too low.
