| Try This 4 Club Round. Hiya Golfing Buddies. I play golf twice a week with 1 or 2 work collegues ( we work a 12 hour night shift on a 4 on 4 off pattern ,so have lots of spare time to play ). After playing the same local club week in week out we were getting slightly Bored and so we decided , over a couple of rounds of post round drinks, to play the next game with only 4 clubs. These consisted of 7iron , PW , putter and 1 other club of personal choice. One chap chose his driver but then found that he struggled from green-side bunkers. Another chap chose his sand_wedge but was short off the tee. I chose my recue club and risked using my PW from bunkers. The day was filled with laughter and we all rediscovered our love of this great game. It highlighted our weaknesess and best of all we had plenty of tales to chat about in the 19th hole. Why not give it a try with your buddies and let me know how you get on. regards.T.P.Grealey ![]() |

| Re: Try This 4 Club Round. A club pro I used to see in the seventies, used to get me to play nine holes with just a five iron. He said there are very few holes that you cannot par with a five iron. For example 3 five irons to a par five is achievable for most people, you can putt with it and you learn to play part shots and shaped shots to get distance right. It is also very good for new players as it takes away the paralysis of trying to choose the right club. Try it some time, it is good fun and teaches you a lot about your swing... |
