New to the forum, and looking for some advice about a new set of
clubs, please. I haven't golfed in about six years, and am ready to play again now that the children are ready to learn how to play. In my last golf life, I was in the near intermediate category with better consistency the more I played. My husband gave me a Knight starter set in hopes of getting me interested in golf about 12 years ago, and they're what I used. I'm ready for some different
clubs now. I have to admit, the colors on many women's
clubs don't appeal to me at all as I prefer
clubs that look like
clubs, not colorful batons, so the pinks, purples and similar are out for me. At 5' 5", athletic/strong and 33 1/2" wrist to floor, I've found that the regular size women's set will usually work for me. One more thing, I don't really care about the name on the club as long as the workmanship is excellent, although I think I'd prefer to stay away from clones as the lack of warranty and quality issues are of some concern. Any suggestions for what are possibilities? I'd consider complete sets, as well as creating a set out of different manufacturers'
clubs (driver, woods, and
irons). And, I'd even consider used
clubs, or
clubs from the last couple of model years. Cost is a consideration, as value is preferred. Thanks much.
