I never understood the advise of hold a club like you're holding a small bird. First of all because who's ever held a small bird? Second of all because I find I get much better resuts if I have a very nice firm grip. As explained in the "Grip" lesson.
i disagree with that, i think the grip should be as loose as posible. maybe loose is not the word, firm is good, but you can still be firm and tension free. your hand are like a hinge, as soon as your hands get tension in them, it is like swinging a rusty hinge. wouldn't you much rather have a greased up hinge to release the club faster?

I know that a tension free swing has been mentioned before, but i had a 1st hand experience of a tension swing killer today. my grips are getting old and it was humid, but my grip was so slick i had to hold it with death grip.

my 5i started out going 180 and dead strait when my grip was good, but then the sweat and and humididty and it got slick and was going 40yds left or right and only 150 yds. my 3w went from 260 down to 180.

I could possibly explore some more British Humour here but I wont because

a. Im on a looong business trip to your part of the world and im dog tired
b. I've held plenty of small birds in my younger days
c. If my Wife reads (b) my life wont be worth living

Re: Favourite tips

Good ol European Humour,

I love it.

Now talking about holding a bird - you blokes know what it means to 'choke the chicken' don't you? Hold your club like that.

Now my best tip ever - play the shot at hand.

Another good'n - chip with your mouth open (helps breathing and releases tension. Could be applied for all shots).

Hey Slats - pushing your Granny whilst she is shaving, is that whilst you were in the bath with her?
