Smile Just had a golf lesson

HI everyone ,just had a golf lesson from the club pro. I was always hitting a fade. Sometimes small often big. All he has changed at the moment is my grip. I wasn't bringing my left hand over the club enough at setup. Feels a bit wierd at the moment ,but what a big difference. In only an hour the shots were going straighter sometimes with a bit of draw. Something I have rarely done. Probably the best money I have ever spent on golf. Now looking forward to playingwith my friends this afternoon (will more than likely forget what Ive been taught within five mins.lol). Hope to video my swing soon and post it for analysis from you guys.
Cheers John B

Hi John,

Make it part of your preshot routine to set your grip for a few weeks and it will soon settle in.

Have a great game this afternoon, I'll just stay at work.

Ian.

Hi John,

I wish I could have a lesseon or two.
Have a nice afternoon out on the course. At the moment here in Münich it's 34°C. I'm glad that we've got Airconditioning.

Smile Re: Just had a golf lesson

During my lesson ,the pro had a training club with a special grip that puts your hands in the correct position. I know they are not allowed on the course but where could I get one for practicing with? I'm still finding the new grip very strange and think if I had one of these it would re-enforce the feeling for the proper grip.
Cheers, John B

Re: Just had a golf lesson

Hi

I believe David Ledbetter has a short club called the swing trainer out, I am told it is very good for:

swing plane
knowing where the club face is
swing speed

and of course it has the grip you ask about.

Ian.

Re: Just had a golf lesson

Thanks Ian for that. I have looked on the internet and have ordered a GolfPridetraining grip. It will cost me a couple of quid to have it fitted to an old 7 iron I have and I'm sure it will help to sort out my grip. By the way I nearly broke ninety today. On the last hole my second shot ended up in a bunker, when I got there it was lying right down in the heel of some clowns size ten footprint. took three to duff it outand ruin my scorecard.

Re: Just had a golf lesson

Hi John,

Take the positive away from that, you have the potential to score well and you haven't got your super grip fitted yet.............

How good will you be with a week or two with your new grip.

Good Luck

ian.
