| Naz and Sam, Well, it's the same reason things change from the practice tee to the course. When you practice you mind is set on improving your swing, tempo, alignment etc. You don't work on course management on the practice tee. Your brain needs to experience the course. Now it has 2 things to focus on. You have brought your game to new level. When you take it from the course to competition even at the lowest level. You are playing with a purpose. Money rounds, scrambles even though it feels like the same round of golf, it is different. There is a little competition, you may have tried a few shots you normally wouldn't have had. A save trying to help your partner. These are things we don't do when we just manage our game. Once you do it a few times the brain knows what is happening. Or I could be full of it and you both had a bad day at the same time. Keep it in the short grass, GolfBald

| Thanks Golfbald I think all the things you said are correct. I think Sam and I also need to remember to have fun playing competition rounds as we do social rounds. We should take our time but not take it so seriously that we arn'e finding it fun. Rai thanks also for your putting advise. I will try those drills. Distance is my main problem and fixing that could result in a few more birdies. |
