Best golf game on PC?

What do you all think is the best golf sim for the PC?
I've been a Links advocate since it first came out but I was suprised to be so disappointed with Tiger Woods 2006 when I finally tried it.
I've also got Real World golf (where you have sensitive gloves attached to the PC that track the motion of your hands) and thought it a great idea that didn't quite fulfill it's potential, although a new version is coming out in a week or so.

hi
jack nicklaus golden bear challenge 6. there are about 2000 golf courses you can download free. it an old game and grapics not as good as newer games but to me still the best, also real world golf, you put gloves on and its a simulator you see your swing on the monitor, great when weather bad and you want to play a round indoor, its makes you break a sweat too.

Re: Best golf game on PC?

Has anyone got/tried the new Real World Golf 2007 game and/or new game track.

http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStatio...7/Product.html

They aren't that expensive at £50 for the lot but I wanted to know if it was worth it through the cold winter months when I dont get to go on the course and its an hour to the nearest driving range.
cheers

Re: Best golf game on PC?

hi
i have it for the pc. its ok 8 out of 10 i think, chipping is so hard as the ball spins back on every shot sometimes back 30/40 feet and you cant control it, overall it does make you sweat and will help keep your game in trim, the pratice range is good for most clubs.

Re: Best golf game on PC?

Yo,

The makers of ProStroke golf have just released a 3 hole demo of their latest offering for the PC, I had a go last night and it was pretty good, but they could do with updating it a bit as there few bugs. There are a lot of swing configuration settings you can play around with such a ball position (relative to feet), open/closed clubface and the ability to move your feet forward and back for fades and draws.

Can't wait to try real world golf 2006, that sounds amazing. Read a review of it which that said the gameplay and controls were excellent, but the graphics weren't so good. It also said that they got the Hefty Lefty (Phil) to try it out and apparantly he was very impressed.

Cheers

Re: Best golf game on PC?

I've got RWG 2007 and would go along with the comments above, it does make you sweat!!
Chipping and putting not quite right (you have to swing too fast) but it's worth having. Real life game improvement features include a swing trainer that tracks your swing plane and shows where you are going wrong.
Massive improvement on it's previous incarnation of a year ago.

Re: Best golf game on PC?

hi irons and woods its good wedges its not realistic as there is to much backspin and ball pulles back much to much to be controled, on the range it does tend to give you a good idea of your swing, for £50 its a good as a swing trainer and you do tend to sweat a bit hitting all the ball as you would on the real range, i got a club that has a weight on the end and is 2 foot long and i use that not the club you get with game. the game parts ok but grapics not that great but ok, the chipping is hard to get under control and dont feel like it does on the real couse but the rest does,
a good buy.

Re: Best golf game on PC?

Hi, I'm new here so this is my first 'post'. Have any of you heard of Dancin Dogg? It comes with the Tiger Woods game but it's a great
simulator. Has really helped me and a couple of the guys with our
shotmaking. Not that every shot we hit is perfect or anything. But
when we get in a tough spot we are able to get out of it a lot better.
In fact, now - whenever we're faced with some kind of weird shot
that needs shaping we call it a 'Dancin' Dogg' shot. Great site by
the way, I need to look around a little more but it looks like a lot of fun.

Re: Best golf game on PC?

I play TW2006. There are so many courses to download out there (coursedownloads.net I believe, google it if it doesn't work) and has pretty sound graphics.

I also play for an online Tour (Clambakers) and that alone has made me enjoy the game even more.

I'm looking for a really good simulation, but haven't found any. Here in the US, there's only Tiger Woods for the PC. If anyone could direct me to other links, that'd be cool. thanks.

Re: Best golf game on PC?

Hi Matt10, To answer your question, I used to play the links pc golf wich was awesome due to the graphics but now i am happy to say that i now play play the tiger woods 06 and 07 but with a catch. I play both games with the p3proswing golf analyzer. now i havn't been able to find anyone else that uses it probably because it's not advertised as a golf simulator or interface for any of the Tiger woods pg games but without a doubt it changes everything, for one you dont use your mouse to play you use every club in your bag at full swing, I would like to find other users out there and mabye start a league. The only problem i see is that the p3proswing costs some money but it is worth every single dime i mean it. check it out.
