Re: Pain In The Fingers!!! Dont despair b11!! Are you subconciously gripping the club too tight? Do you wear a glove? Are your grips worn? Check it out. Maybe you are developing a medical problem. Seriously, maybe you should see a doctor if any of the above dont make sense. Grip it and rip it!!!!!

Re: Pain In The Fingers!!! If you do have tendinitis, the more you use those tendons the more you will aggravate them. The common treatments are rest, immobiliaztion, ice and non steroidal anti inflammatories like motrin and naprosyn if you can tolerate them. If a joint does not respond to these basic treatments, an orthopedist can use steroidal injections as anther treatment modality. Having said that, there may be swing issues or club issues. For example, stiff shaft irons steel can cause injury and inflammation at impact as they do not absorb the shock very well on off center hits. On the other hand, graphite irons are much better at absorbing shock. Your swing should not cause pain and should feel pleasing to the body. You may be too tense further putting more strain on the tendons. As far as playing through pain, I would not advise this. Hope this helps

Re: Pain In The Fingers!!! B11, I had a similar problem at the end of last year with the middle finger of my right hand. It was diagnosed as tendonititis but anti-inflamatories only worked for a short while. In the mornings, I couldn't bend the finger when I first got up. I tried resting it for a week, but that didn't work. After a while I decided it must be arthritis. However, after the Winter layoff, I'm happy to say that the problem dissappeared and hasn't returned so far. You may just need to give it a long rest. Not easy during golf season!!
