What's your dream set?

Everybody knows thet golfers as a bunch are always looking for that piece of equipment that will transform their game into something resembling Tiger's. So in that theme, if money were no object, what would be your dream set of clubs and why?

To get us started here's mine.

Callaway FT-3 neutral (Aldila NV 65g X-Stiff)
Callaway Fusion 3W (Aldila NV 75g X-Stiff)
TaylorMade Rescue Dual TP 16°,19° (Mitsubishi Diamana H Stiff)
Mizuno MP-32 (True Temper S300)
Titleist Vokey Wedges (52°, 56°)
Titleist ProV1x
Odyssey No.2 Centre shafted (34')

I love Callaway woods and think that fusion ones are the best ever, especially with those shafts as you can feel exactly were the head is at all times so you get phenomenal accuracy and tight dispersion without losing any length. Getting the right shaft is at least as important as the head to me, and the NV is the perfect match.
The TP hybrids are also superb. I prefer the 2 iron replacement over a 5 wood for accuracy without losing length. Again the shafts play a big role in that.
I've always played Mizuno irons and I only wish that I was good enough to play the MP-32s. If I had to choose another set it would be the Titleist 695MBs.
Vokey wedges natch! With 48° PW being the norm, I'd take a gap wedge over a lob wedge unless the ground is really hard.
ProV1x - long off the driver without floating but still checks up on the green. Bridgestone B330's come a close second.
Putters are probably the most personal item of anyones bag. I just happen to really like this one.

Feel free to comment on this set and those posted by other people. And dream big and expensive, imagine you've just won the lotto and you're rewarding yourself with the equipment you've always wanted, even if it is gold plated Honma's!

Re: What's your dream set?

If money were no object:

Everything would be shafted with Ozik shafts (the $1000 shaft).

I'd have an AccuFLEX Creation shaft in my driver ($400 shaft).

I'd play an SMT Encore in my driver.
I'd play the gold plated Honmas
I'd play SMT Durometer wedges - no, wait. I may play the Srixon Black Ox wedge... nope. I need performance over looks. Duro's!
For my putter - I'd keep my MentorSports Triad 2.

If SKILL were no object

I'd play a persimmon driver
I'd play SMT 303MB irons
I'd play SMT Duro wedges
For my putter, I'd take an old tour flange putter - circa 1960.

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.

I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.

For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.

Re: What's your dream set?

hi
mine would be ping 5 iron to 9 iron,
cu beryllium copper zing 2 with aldila graphite or rifile shafts.
wedge, gap-wedge, swedge would be durometer with rifile graphite shafts.
driver would be the new rapture ping driver and also the rapture 18,21,24% hybrids. heard reports the new ping just smokes all other drivers out there just now and the g5 is a great driver .
i would keep my broomhandled putter, a c10 g2i ping.

Re: What's your dream set?

Sheesh! I'm glad I hadn't heard of Oziks before I got my driver reshafted, else it could have cost me a kidney! SMT isn't big in the UK but I'm hearing more noise about them all the time. And those SMT 303MB look like butter knives (and also like the Mizuno MP-37). You'd better have your A game to play with those!

I hadn't heard about the PING rapture until today either (I read that Cristie Kerr used one when she won the recent Canadian Open). Similar sort of design to the Mizuno and Callaway carbon/titanium design. It looks fantastic. Actually, the whole range does too but odds are that it will be a while until the UK gets it

Somehow I thought that the putters would be a more personal choice. I figure that everybody like something different as it's a question of feel more than anything else.

If I can make a change to my original post it's that I'd love to find out exactly how good the Rifle Project X shafts would be in my irons

While she does have a fine set and is indeed something to dream about, I don't think you would score too well with her, shootin4par
