| Why does the swing fall apart? The front nine was great....lot of fairways and greens and 4 over. Then after a bad par 3 on back, swing fell apart, hooks, mis hits etc 12 over!. I am 13 h'cap. It was a county tournament. Hd a good chance to top my bracket. But then!!! Here are the highlights... 2 Birdies(Both par 5s, tap ins!!) 1 Quad Bog 1 Tripple Bog 2 Double Bog Now couple of excuses.... 1) started play at 12:00 but usually done by then. 2) Skipped lunch and instead had a few bars and couple of gatorages. I think it is more mental than physical. But then beyond this, how does one get back the swing after a bad hole?

| Re: Why does the swing fall apart? I should have blamed someone else...there was an opportunity. n the backswing there was a loud scream from a near by tee. My partner asked if it caused me to mis-hit? I didd't want to blame others for my bad shot. But may be it will be a good way to excuse yourself.! Thanks. |

| Re: Why does the swing fall apart? What were you thinking after the first nine? To understand if this was a mental game breakdown we really need to know who you were feeling about the game - you state of mind. Were you thinking - I could win this. If I par the next two holes then....etc, etc. By the sounds of your post you were thinking what you stated on the post after nine.....I could win this. I suggest reading "golf is not a game of perfect" and evaluating you own game against this book. Otherwise you need to give more info. Asking if you mental game broke down without saying what your mindset was on the course is like asking someone to fix your swing fault without describing the problem. Hope this helps, the book is really good. It emphasises the importance of the mental game in real life senerios. JCBDB
