Thumbs down weird driving

hi i went to a pga pro recently and he helped me with alot of things on irons. because i have been hooking every wood and pretty much all my irons. he helped alot by saying 1/4 way in my backswing point the toe of the club directly behind me (or something like that) and amazingly it helped.so i thought why not give it a try off my driver (which i have been hooking also) but then my hook turned straight to a huge slice. what is wrong and it really starts to make me have an unpleasant round help please

thanks

Lightbulb unpleasant round all right

It was more than an unpleasant round all right sam. You looked looked like a green keeper digging up the fairway after you duffed all those 3 irons on the 14th. If it makes you feel better I went to play comp on Sunday 3rd. There was no group for moe so I couldn't play. I waited for an hour and then played 18 holes by my self. on the first 6 holes I hooked every tee shot. 7th I skied and went 50 meters forward and miles high. 9th I pulled into the dam on 10th and I ended up with 50 for the 9. Then on the back 9 I tried to fix things and I got better. then on 13 I pull/hooked my first drive onto the 17th. I pulled out another ball and push sliced it miles to the right nearly on the road next to the 15th! But the last 5 holes I went great and in the end with some luck I got 45 and 95 for 18. When I went good I teed up lower and just made sure not to use my wrists too much but not too less. I swung so that i didn't rotate my hips and turn too much but not to less and I watched the ball for a longer period of time. I hope we start playing to our handicaps a bit more often or we'll lose comp every sunday.
