| Jim Mclean please leave Hogan alone http://www.golfbusinesswire.com/2006_articles/110271 This new release was really looking interesting, until I saw Mclean was once again featured in it to analyze the Hogan swing. I watched "Ben Hogan: the golf swing" where Mclean tried real hard to fit Hogan's swing into his teaching theories, practically ruining it. I watched it several times, only to see the Hogan footage, fast forwarding on Mclean. Dont' get me wrong, Mclean is an excellent teacher. But he excels in teaching mediocre golf to mediocre golfers (and there's nothing wrong with that), not analyzing the timeless masterpiece. If only Hank Haney and Tiger Woods could take a winter vacation and make a DVD presenting the Hogan swing. After all, Haney said on Charlie Rose that Hogan was the only swing video that he and Tiger would watch. One can still dream. |

| Re: Jim Mclean please leave Hogan alone From my point of view, since the heirs to Hogan's estate are on board with this collection of instruction, it makes little difference what other names get attached to their effort. It will be a good source of historical teaching information, and Hogan's estate will make money off it. Now from a business stand point, I think Hogan's heirs could have done themselves better by controlling the number of people who have been allowed to ride on the Hogan band wagon. GJS |
