Bad in a previous life?

I think I must have been.

Got the rescue club I'd asked Santa for. Also got:

A lousy cold. And.

A pulled muscle in my shoulder. A pulled muscle that is from picking up the flipping Radio Times - don't ask!

Pass me some paracetamol and roll on the New Year.

All the best to all.

Happy New Year Robin.

Were you picking up a rolled up radio Times with your recovery wood? Sorry, I shouldn't ask!

Re: Bad in a previous life?

Cheers Brian

At last. Got out this morning, only to the range unfortunately, to do some more work on the ideas from that link you sent me re the woods.

Only the 3W and still a little erratic as you might expect for a "new move" but definite signs of improvement.

Best of all by the end I was setting up without the expectation of failure - even the poor shots gave me at least something to walk after - which is a big step forward from my previous mental state, so a bit more work on the range and I'll see if the mental side survives the first tee with a crowd watching!

Hope your new clubs are all you hoped they'd be.

Happy New Year

Robin

Re: Bad in a previous life?

Hi Robin,

That's encouraging to hear. Another thing to work on is achieving the correct position of the club just after impact, this will assist in stopping you throwing your right shoulder and arms across your chest too early in the follow through:

Hit some balls (Nice and slow) but stop your swing just past impact, try to get into a position where your arms are fully extended down the line towards the target, your right shoulder is down below your chin, your spine angle is maintained and you are still looking at the place where the ball was at address. Also ensure the leading edge of the club is pointing straight up to the sky.

Work on achieving this position as much as possible, it will encourage straighter ball flight.

Thanks, The new clubs are great, I am getting better shaping and trajectory with them.
