| 3-wood and hybrid clubs: UGH.... To all, Hoping to get a little hint from you all on why I can't hit a 3-wood or hybrid club off the deck. I hit my driver fine, no problem. Also, I can usually hit all of my irons fine. There is a hole in my game between the 190-210 yard range that exists because I can't hit either of these clubs off the deck. Why? I don't know. It is almost always a 50 yard dribbler that feels like a "topped" shot. I have put my 3-iron back in my back because right now, it is much more reliable. Any hints? Maybe my swing is too steep?? If so, how do I correct it? I know you are supposed to "sweep" these shots but to me these are just words. I need a visual. Thanks in advance. Chessbum... |

| Re: 3-wood and hybrid clubs: UGH.... Hi Chessbum, Sounds like aggression to me...............like when you hit your irons with a sharp thump through the ball, with your woods you need to give them a fraction of a second longer during the whole swing as they are longer clubs. One other fatal mistake is to try and lift the ball with them, just make sure your ball position is ok, just inside your left heel and sweep through without lifting. Hope this helps. Ian. |
