Whats a good golf movie??

  1. I have seen Legend of bagger Vance (Charlize Theron....wow).Better then I thought it would be.
  2. The caddyshacks....funny stuff.
  3. Tin cup.........too unreal for me. He beats the guy with lawn equipment.......come on now.
  4. Happy Gilmore. ...Adam Sandler is awesome.
Thats about it.

Re: Whats a good golf movie??

Ohh..movies...golf...my specialty! Working at Blockbuster - I have recommended these movies , but I will rank them:

1. A Gentleman's Game (Gary Sinise) - Excellent movie about what golf can do to a man and how it can change a boy into a man. One of my favorites. Has some bad language.

2. The Greatest Game Ever Played (Shia Labeuf) - The story of a young man of extraordinary talent who faces the great Vardon himself. A great family movie in my opinion.

3. Tin Cup (Kevin Costner) - I watch this one everytime it's on TV, heck I rent it more than once a month. "Roy MaCavoy's" Swing idea/epiphany scene alone is worth watching. A courageous movie about confidence - going for it or not going for it; playing golf like it's your life and vice versa.

I'll leave it at that, the Caddyshacks were silly and weren't really golf movies per se - I don't know why, but Legend of Bagger Vance just didn't interest me. Happy Gilmore was great - Adam Sandler played quite the role.

Re: Whats a good golf movie??

The Bobby Jones movie was really good - as was The Greatest Game Ever Played.

I enjoyed the Legend of Bagger Vance.

Also, the golf scenes in Goldfinger are good.

Re: Whats a good golf movie??

Oh yeah , I remember the one in Swordfish..........Halle Berry.

I think the movie "Sideways " had a pretty good golf scene in it also.

I really want to see the movie about Bobbie Jones. After watching some of his old instructional videos and reading about him I am amazed at what he accomplished.

Dead Solid Perfect, Starring Randy Quaid. I saw it one time on HBO about 12 years ago. Don't know if you'll find it. Good journyman pro flick.
