| Good to see you learned a little. The bad news is that you'll be having lessons and coming here for the rest of your life. Seriously though, everybody needs lessons and tips now and again just to make sure you're on the right track. Even the top professionals continually have lessons Well done Paul |

| I have never taken lessons, but I have used many tips from this site as well as many of the pros that I golf with occasionally. In the last 6 years since I have started playing competitively, I have worked myself from a 26 handicap to an 8. It's amazing how many things there are that can cause a slice! I have corrected my set up for my driver and I now have a absolutely straight drive that gets about 280 to 300 yrds on average. The only thing left is to get the exact distances down with my new irons. I am getting closer to an exact distance with each club every round and now that I am not scrambling from the rough after each drive I should be down to a six by the end of September.

| Congrats!!! Congrats Brian, Glad to hear the community of Gandolf is prospering. That's impressive. I'll drink a rum and chaserin your honor tommorrow. I've got a scramble after work. Won twice this year and a second in 5 comps. Just a little something to keep the game tuned. I have to get this beast of a 3 wood retimed. I put a new shaft in it and it's thrown my timing off on my woods. Hitting a lot of draws. The distance is messed up too. Was 240--250 now it's 250--275. Gotta get the beast under control. Sorry I'm rambling on a bit. Good luck in future comps Brian!!! GolfBald

| Some folks are never happy! (lol). I would kill for a draw - let alone a draw with that kind of distance. Anyway - took Brian's tip, about the front foot angle, on to the range last night and 'lo and behold!' my driver slice is all but gone. I knew I wasn't getting round far enough in the follow through but couldn't figure how to get the stiff old body to comply. Little things eh? Mind you - everythings now going to the left, but I call that progress. Somewhere in between 'before and after' should fix that, if I can find it (and remember it everytime). Keep up the hints, they all help. |
