| dont you remember a few years back either in an open or a ryder cup match at the old course at st andrews when olazabel was on one of those huge rolling greens and decided to get the wedge out and took a huge divot out of the beatiful green.totally legal and was a good shot, the only one not smiling was the greenkeeper. ![]() |

| Thanks guys. :) I have read the R&A rules of golf and could'nt find anything saying you had to use a putter on the greens. Its always nice to get confirmation. I do try not to damage the greens as I know how much work goes into them and a 6 iron chip and run does not need back-spin so should'nt really need a divot. This was one of those rare occasions where I knew that this shot was better than my putting. :0) Now to work out how the woods work. I have played for 4 months now and have not touched a wood. My 3 iron goes just as far as my brothers driver and is more accurate (he gets quite annoyed by that) :0). Here to a long life and good golf...cheers. :0) |
