Square Fairway Woods

Does anyone have any expierience using any of these new square fairway woods that are showing up? If so please share your opinion(s). I bought a set of 3, 5, and 7s wood from a guy who have given up the game. Actualy all i wanted were the UST Proforce V2 shafts, but since looking at these clubs, I think I will hit a few balls before I decide whether to take them apart or not. Thanks in advance. GJS

Re: Square Fairway Woods

It's my experience that they're more forgiving in the lab.

I bought the suite of heads when Integra came out with the Quadratic.

I had a few people hit them (driver through 5 wood) and there wasn't any noticable difference compared to a modern design.

Perhaps I should scavenge some and check them on the LM, but I assume I might only be seeing a yard or two gained back (and what's a yard or two on 230?)

Re: Square Fairway Woods

I guess it really is a matter of personal preference, I played a couple of rounds using square metals ( driver, # 3, # 5 ) as far as distance and accuracy I much prefered my traditional shaped Nickent equipment.
The squares were okay I hit the ball fine with them but a hefty price tag, in my opinion square is nothing more than a gimmick, I've found very few players who say they are longer or straighter than conventional shaped equipment.
