Got my new toys!

Birthday cash came through today so I went to Golf Galaxy and spent every dime of it.

I picked up a Taylormade Burner 3W, a Ping Tour-W 60 degree wedge, a 4-GW set of Cobra FP irons, and a Nike Sasquatch Tour stand bag. I now have my own set of clubs. Plus, the wife got me a nice Adidas golf shirt and a 4-pack of lessons at Golf Galaxy.

Now if the weather will just cooperate...

Re: Got my new toys!

Am just about to get my new toys. Currently playing with a set of TaylorMade LT's but had a bash with a set of TM 300's last week, with a stiffish set of shafts, loved the feel of them, seemed to me to be easier to shape. (Having said that I popped a 160 yard draw with a 7-iron into the hole this evening and now I'm not so sure I've made the right decision, though I'm not selling those until I see which ones suit me better). Got them on ebay for just over a ton. Which I thought was a pretty good price they've got rifled steel shafts with a 5.5 flex, so it'll be interesting to see how they compare to the ones I tried last week and my LT's. I'll keep you posted.

Thumbs up Re: Got my new toys!

oh man. They are beauuuuutiful. Got 'em on Thursday. Bit of a knock Thursday afternoon. Full round Friday, but it's been real windy, so distance calculation is a bit tricky. But they go lazer straight. 37 points for 17 holes (off 6.6). Kind of lost a ball on one hole, not because of inaccuracy though, lack of vision on behalf of myself and playing partners (found the bloody thing 5 minutes later (look harder and take your full 5 minutes). Two of us finished on 37 (20 points for me on back nine, countback yippee), with the next place 6 pointys behind, so I've got them dialled in, I suspect they are a little stiff for me because I'm not getting the distance of what a 5.5 should get for say a 6-iron, but I'm happy enough with just hitting 150 yard 7-irons if they're straight. Anyway I really like the 300's. Recommended.

Re: Got my new toys!

The average 150 club for most pro's is a 7 or 8 iron, so your doing fine. The whole point is to be able to control it.
