Want to update my equipment

Hey guys,

I am getting back into golf after a few years of playing sparingly. When I played weekly, I played to a 12. I hit the driver and irons decent but my short game cost me. I have the(3-pw) tour edge irons by Titlest and the Cleveland Launcher 10.5 is my driver. I have the tour edge 3 wood. I have a couple of cleveland wedges also. I had fair length with the driver at times but would suffer with bouts of the duck hooks from time to time. I hit my irons decent distance. I am still in my 40s and would like to get back to beating my old golfing buddies. Any suggestions?

Best regards,

Mudcat

The other thing I'd do is invest in a gap wedge (GW or AW) to play between your sand and pitching wedges.

Since you're hitting your driver and irons OK, the AW will give you another 'full swing option' past the PW, and may come in handy for short game shots, too.

Even though I rarely break 90, I'm at least consistently in the 90's due to short game practice. Going OB and mis-hitting shots are still costing me strokes (I really need to pay attention to ball position), but being able to get up and down around the green is so valuable - and I really get pensive when I'm not chipping and pitching well.

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.

I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.

For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
