Good golf set? What is a better set of golf clubs, 1) Adams Uc-10 (priced around 150-170 dollars) 2) Slingshot clones/v-91/t/v2 (priced from 130-160) 3)Cleveland Ta-5 (From 210-240) 4)Nike Cpr (from 200-240) After I sell the titelist clubs i purchased i am looking to buy new clubs in a month or so. Id appreciate your opinions. Thanks, sikwitit_23@hotmail.com

Re: Good golf set? Clevelands are great, but the CPR hybrids are great for a beginner. I'm not a fan of Adams clubs, and stay away from clones like the plague!

Re: Good golf set? I am with Ben - stay away from clones. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to OEM, checkinto component clubs. Snake Eyes and Dynacraft are the leaders in this area for North America. Seeing you are a fellow Canuck, Dynacraft has a Canadian site www.golfquip.com that allows you to order Dynacraft components with Canadian prices and no duty coming over the border.

Re: Good golf set? Well, are you looking new or used? That plays a big part in the acceptable price. It's not so much about price, as it is about quality. Personally, I'd go component first, then OEM. I still wouldn't go with clones (knowingly). (I know, I know, I've got 2 in my bag, but they're on the chopping block! Yes, my iron heads are clones, too, but they're more to see if I like a combo set. Once they do their duty, it's time for CER 701+3C's!)

Re: Good golf set? A good set of component clubs are just as good of quality, if not better, than an OEM set with similar specs. The difference in price is first and foremost advertising recovery. OEM companies pay a fortune for advertising, sponsoring players and numerous other costs. Second, you are getting an assembled set from the OEM manufacturers, which may or may not suit your specific needs.

Re: Good golf set? Maltby is good stuff (www.golfworks.com) SMT makes fantastic drivers (www.SMTgolf.com) Bang is good for woods (www.banggolf.com)

Re: Good golf set? For irons Dynacraft or Snake Eyes The Dynacraft distributor in Canada is www.golfquip.com and the Snake Eyes manufacturer is GolfSmith - www.golfsmith.com As for woods, I would suggest (in this order): Ashton Golf - www.ashtongolf.com - a Canadian company as well! SMT - www.smtgolf.com Alpha - www.alphaclubs.com Snake Eyes (as above) Bang - www.banggolf.com Make sure you find a Canadian distributor (if possible) or you will end up paying extra shipping, get ripped off on exchange and pay duty.
