| New Putter? Having just recently won one of our Junior's Majors I've decided to treat myself to a putter. I only have a cheap putter at the moment and I don't really like the feel it. I play on slow greens so I'd preferably like one that would aid me on them sort of greens. I want a blade style putter and I have been told to look at: Ping G2i Anser Titleist Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum Newport Never Compromise Milled Series But, and this is why I need some feedback, I have doubts whether blade is the right way to go because of all the mallet style putters popping out of everywhere. What are your suggestions on the following: TaylorMade Monza Ping Craz-E Voodoo Daddy (Another Never Compromise) Odyssey Selection The main one I'm having doubts with is with the Odyssey. Today's Golfer says it's still the best while some people I've spoken to don't like it at all. I know it's all up to whose buying it but some feedback won't hurt. I hope !I'd also like to hear your views on putter shaft length. I read that the average putter shaft is 3 inches shorter. This is to let your hand hangs better, so is this worth doing? Actually, who can do it for you? Thanks guys

| Re: New Putter? Putting is such a personal issue, just try out as many putters of different styles as you can before you decide. In my experience you know when you've find the right putter the very moment you first use it, but it can take some finding in the first place. |

| Re: New Putter? I like my 2 ball blade - and have experimented with the extra alignment line and love it. For slow greens (and so not to screw up my putting stroke), I use my custom Scotty Mid Sur. It was a belly putter that I reshafted. So now I get a heavy-headed heel-toe putter for slow greens. But as PH said, it's a personal thing. If you can, try to see if you can take the putter out with you for a round. I guarantee if there's a spot to hit putters indoors, the astroturf will probably be faster than your greens.

| Re: New Putter? The new 2 ball has a line down through the 2 balls to help aid alignment. The MentorSports Triad 2 that I use now (in fact, it's bumped the 2 ball out of the bag) has a few tricks to help putting - including a line from the back to the front, a slightly recessed channel the width of the ball, and a face that will open if the club isn't properly soled. Plus the weights are quite adjustable - anywhere from 315 grams (empty, the same weight as the 2 ball blade) to a whopping 650 grams. The kicker is that I noticed that with the 2 ball, the ball would often hop off the face (as I've often seen with most putters), but the Triad 2 gets the ball rolling right away - and the ball holds the line fantastically. Even the mis-hits are good with this putter. You'll miss your line, of course, but not by much.

| Re: New Putter? I have nver putted with any putter like I can with my Cleveland 'designed by' putter: http://www.clevelandgolf.com/proshop...designedby.php If by some freak accident I broke my putter, I would definitely by this one again. A small blade head, no alignment lines, but sets up square very simply every time and the weighting is perfect. |

| Re: New Putter? I played a Mezza Monsa last year, and this past winter splurged on a Scotty Cameron Newport 2. This putter is not the best because of the hype, it's not the best because of the status - it's just the best, period. The only way I can describe it is that it's like having instinct itself in your hands rather than a putter. It's simply the best, hands-down. Buy one - you'll see. |

| Re: New Putter? I have a 2 ball White Steel putter and its the best I have ever used. The feel on the ball is amazing and it has a solid feel. Very rare that a putt is left short. There are loads of great putters out there but its a guarentee that you wont be disappointed with an odyssey. |
