Old Blade Putters

I found an old blade putter in a used club bin and tried it out at the store and course last week. I was floored by the feel of the old putter for distance control. I normally use a Two-Ball blade putter but this old blade putter has supplanted the two-ball in my bag for now. I think Ben Crenshaw and occasionally Phil Mickelson use blade putters.

Does anyone else use blade putters?

This one is stamped Arnold Palmer AP30R. Does anyone know when this putter was made or any other details about it?

Thanks.

Re: Old Blade Putters

I saw one here http://www.solu.net/barry/putters.htm for $150 with a signature stamp on it.

No idea about when it was made though.

Re: Old Blade Putters

i was thinking about getting one because i can putt good with my 3 iron but instead i got a mallet, like it too though but yeah distance on long putts is a little harder to judge with a mallet

Re: Old Blade Putters

a mallet putter is like the Two-Ball putter, pretty much every putter other than blade putter

Re: Old Blade Putters

The putter I use is a blade from when I started Golfing at an age of seven (34 years ago). I wouldn't change it for anything. The feel of the ball is fantastic.

Re: Old Blade Putters

I use a Cleveland 'designed by' blade putter. The only way to get me to change would to pry it out of my cold dead hands.
