Newport 2 TEI3 putter

Just purchased this beautifu black putter with the copper looking insert. Why does it sound tinning when i hit it/ is that normal? It really sounds loose... Can I just cut the shaft to fit me or so I have to ass weight? How do i add the weight ?
Please help me
