| just got back from dicks well today was a lovely day, got part of my graduation present, new golf clubs we were on our way to an hour away golfmith when we stumbled upon a brand new dicks sporting goods, went in tried out some clubs slingshot oss, if u cant hit the ball with this beast...quit the game what i ended up with however is some titliest forged cavity back irons, the 804-os model, got a good deal on them, 3-pw 499$ hit callaway x460 and r7 460, ended up with r7 460, mostly becaue hype, x460 hit damn good too, but he kept saying my trajectory with the r7 looked really good looked at putters, had rossa mallet, practically swings itself, but i wanted the daytona version, didnt have it so im gonna have to order if off the internet on the course: whipped out r7 on first hole, killed....but wait damn thats too much draw, the 14 gram weight on the inside kept me drawing too much so i had to use a really weak grip to keep it straight so swinging was funny and couldnt get sweetspot much, but when i did the 2 times, it absolutely owned the ball i was afraid to change the weight because i remember seeing in the ad how its 2 masive drivers in one head, i was wondering why couldnt i put the 14 gram weight on the outside, i could got at it hard and not worry about snap hooking it too bad, i took the weights out when i got home and the driver is like 10 times lighter, might get me some littlest weight possible to put in the holes other than the too much draw it was hitting the rock good irons, love love love, 1 1/2 club longer than my last clubs, good trajectory i like them alot until i hit a 5 iron from about 185 out and it backed up on the green right beside the hole and thats when i fell in love love love love

| Re: just got back from dicks Well done on graduation hope you continue to love the clubs. Quote:
I know there tends to be a trade off between forgiveness and workability - though in any case I guess that if you need the forgiveness perhaps you should leave shot shaping until your ball striking is more consistant (at least I should). Are there similar trade offs against getting extra distance? Is it just a function of loft? Or are some clubs just designed differently or better? |
