Taylormade RAC LT Irons

Hi there. This is my first post to this board - I'm glad I found it.

I'm considering purchasing the Taylormade RAC LT irons. I've yet to hit my proshop to demo the clubs, but I thought I'd see what others had to say before I invested the time in them at the range.

Try all the clubs in the demo barrel. I wanted a set of Titleist 683 I tested everything at Golf Galaxy in Chicago and found a better fit in Hogans blades. Try as many as you can get your hands on.

Well now that I've played with these clubs a few times I'll give you my two cents:

LT stands for low trajectory, but in the hands of a capable golfer, this doesn't have to be the case. I can easily get these irons high in the air in a hurry if need be, but they do have a penetrating ball flight as well. If the OS irons are designed to get the ball in the air faster than the LT irons then they may be good for high handicap golfers, but they'd likely balloon on a better player.

These irons don't have the offset that the OS irons do and are more blade-like. The lack of an offset enables the player to work the ball relatively easily in comparison to the OSs. The LTs won't give you as much workability as a forged iron like the MBs would, but they are quite forgiving - as advertised.

All in all, I'd recommend these irons for a mid handicap golfer. Don't let the "low trajectory" moniker dissuade you from giving them a try.
