Question Powerball

Sorry if this has been asked before but I didn't find it with a search.

Has anyone used the Powerball? Any views or opinions.

Re: Powerball

I got one for xmas. I've been using it everday now for the past 3 weeks. I've deffinately noticed and increase in strength and distance. I used to hit a PW about 125 now i'm hitting it about 135-140. I feel the main increase comes from added strength in the wrists allowing me to hold the wrist cock longer and release the club later. I've always struggled with early release.

This added strength has got me thinking about golf fitness. I'm gonna get down the gym soon and start a fitness program

The powerball is definately worth a try. It's a bit of fun really but it'll deffo inpprove the swing.

Hope this helps

Daz

Re: Powerball

Thanks, as with most "gain 30 yards without really trying" ads my initial reaction was sceptical, from what you say perhaps I should suspend my cynicism.

Re: Powerball

Your right.
You're not gonna become a better golfer by using this. the only way to do that is practice. Your also not gonna gain any strength just by owning it.
You've gotta use it daily. I tend to do about 10-15 minutes every night.
It burns the muscles when you get it going so thats always a good sign that your doing some good. It's worth a try. There only about £15 or so arn't they so your not losing much. You'll probably get hooked into just making it go faster and faster anyway without really thinking of it being exercise.
My record so far is just over 11000 rpm.
I'd be interested to see if anyone else has one and if they noticed any benefits.

Re: Powerball

Hi, I just thought I'd resurect an old thread.

I got a powerball pro a week ago or so, I'm not sure if I've improved my distances yet but I have noticed my forearms have got bigger.

Anyway I just set my record of 11,225rpm. How does that compare to others on the forum?

Cheers

Chris

Re: Powerball

Not used mine for months. I'll have to dig it out tonight and start using it again. Give me a couple of weeks and I'll have that 11,225 beat. I've not got the Powerball Pro I've got the Powerball Gyro. You don't get as higher speed with the techno as you do with the Pro. It's suprisingly good fun though isn't it.

Re: Powerball

My thread so I'd better reply.

Never got that high - though I think my rugby playing lad is up there.

Have found out two things though which might be useful:-

Regular use with your weaker wrist / arm (left for me as a rightie) brings it up to strength which seems to improve play - although how much is down to that and how much down to practice???

Even (especially?) "gentle" use helps with strains etc - I've had recurring upper left arm / shoulder problems that are much improved.

Re: Powerball

I love using the powerball, it is really addictive and I end up spending a good half an hour on each arm a night. I spend most of my time on the 30sec runs, which is suposed to improve strength. My fastest run with my left is about 9700, as opposed to the 11,225 on the right. Have you seen the www.powerballs.com website? They have a leaderboard for a number of different catagories most of which are topped by some greek guy, with videos of him going mental with it.
