apathy,my key to success

hi all,
as many of us are trying to perfect a tension free swing i accidently found a cure for mine. apathy!
let me explain
this saturday i was debating whether to go for 18 holes on my own, looking out of the window it was overcast and cool for this time of year so i set out half heartedly thinking if the car park was full i would turn back for home but it seemed fairly quiet so i paid my money and headed for the first tee. whether im playing solo or in a group my mind is too full of high expectations that are hard to achieve!
anyway i was pretty none plussed as i said and my swing benefitted as i nailed every drive, approach shots were spot on as were chips and i had the least amount of putts ever in a round.
not sure its a cure for all but it helped me to a PB of 78

Re: apathy,my key to success

Nice work, slater!

I've found the same thing for my swing. I'm a club shorter than I used to be, but I've got this nice slow takeaway, a nice turn of the hips (no sliding!), and a wonderful trajectory. I no longer feel like I'm trying to hit from the top. I simply load up on the backswing, and turn left. The ball just goes. It's so nice. Effortless power. The trick is to keep swinging like that.

Way to go on the 78!
