Concentration, Focus, Practice, Enjoyment

I started playing golf in March 2005 (16 months ago) and have had a few lessons and also spent a lot of time in the range. I'd read lots of articles about pre-shot routines, taking one shot at a time and also practicing with a purpose. I always had these things in the back of my mind but never really put them into practice.

Earlier in the week I spent some quality time in the range working in a systematic way: driving, mid-irons & pitching (should have done some putting and chipping but hey there are not enough hours in the day !)

I went out yesterday and played two rounds at two different courses and shot 84 on each course : this was a personal best. In my 36 holes for the day I hit 18 pars.

My focus during the rounds was trying as much as possible to do the same thing before each shot and the key swing thought was maintaining the my spine angle.

I'd always enjoyed my golf (never got down if I hit a bad shot or had a bad round) but playing well makes the game even more enjoyable.

With golf (as with most others things in life) you GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN.

Good hitting and keep up the good work on this site.
