help!!!!

Hi All,

Any advice would be very appreciated.
when I swing the golf club I seem to be coming over the top a little not by much, but just enough to put a bit of left to right cut on the ball.

Also I seem to be striking the ball from the heel end of the club, the only way I seem to be able to avoid this and cath the ball out of the middle is to set up with the toe as opposed to the centre of the club. maybe these 2 faults are combined.

please advise.

Kind regards
Killer

Re: help!!!!

Hello! I know this is an old post, but it was brought to my attention by the quite random comment above!

Anyway, think down and then out in the downswing, rather than out and then down. Develop your downswing so that you feel like your hitting out at the ball with your trail arm from the hitting position.

Good suggestion as ever from Neil but also have a look at your alignment. I know from bitter experience (and I'm still trying to fix it) that if you align to the right of the target (left for lefties) then your golf brain will try and compensate and the only way it can is to come over the top - I don't know why a heel hit also results but it does.

So (and see related threads) have a check on some setup basics anmd thenm work on your down swing.
