First Lesson for a lefty...

Decided to get fit for new irons this Christmas so made appt. with club pro on a day that turned out to be cold. Fortunately the range has heated booths which helped a lot. Pro really gave me a going over. Here's what she suggested I do to improve: Stand bit farther from ball, weaken bottom hand grip, and she really got after me because I tend to leave my body open to the targetline which created my slice, so I concentrated on making sure my front shoulder was square, majority wgt on back foot, don't lift club going back, smooth swing to finish. When I was finished she showed me before/after video of myself swinging and it was a revelation. I applied what she told me over the next three rounds played and last outting shot 77. If you haven't seen your pro, I think it might help. I wish I hadn't waited so long. Play well!

Re: First Lesson for a lefty...

Interesting... I agree that the pre-shot routine/alignment is very important.
