As quirky as Jim Hardy's system is, I do not believe it requires/includes flipping. Even if flipping can increase speed, it increases inconsistency 5 fold. I can't imagine why you believe flipping isn't such a bad thing. |

I can see that this will be a difficult concept for you to grasp but I will attempt to explain: Many experienced and top golfers use their right hand aggressively through impact, they can actively release the right forearm without loss of control, many amateur golfers swings break down when this is attempted. Erratic swings are often created by hands and forearms being over actively rolled over through impact, some rotation is necessary but the best swings use very little. A powerful release can incorporate the progressive straightening of the the right wrist joint and arm as they deliver the club to impact and the momentum of this action will naturally continue unless it is physically interrupted. The right hand can work under the left after striking the ball and in doing so will keep the clubface square to the target and on optimum plane for the longest possible time. You may think that this is advocating a swatting action that will hit the ball fat or thin but it is impossible to do this if your body is positioned into the impact area correctly and with conviction. So! I reiterate, it is possible to create substantial power from the right hand and arm by releasing it in this controlled manner.

I am trying to explain (Not very successfully) that the subject is not as black and white as some suggest. The golf swing is not black or white, there are many different styles and techniques, I am trying to show that there are conditions where the forward action of the right wrist and arm is desirable. I have attempted to explain this in a sensible manner but if I only get replies such as "PHOOEY" then I can see I am wasting my time trying to assist peoples understanding.
