need drill on sweeping the ball off tee not hitting down

I purchased a Calliwat FT i, 10 degree, regular shaft and when I hit off the tee it looks like it is a good ball, when I go to my ball it is 20-50 yards behind everyone, it is driving me crazy becausr i am not a short hitter (average 230-240, guess), now it seems like it is going 200 yards, it just seems to die, i am thinking that maybe i am not sweeping the ball and am hitting down on it, just a guess, does anyone have any suggestions other than drinking a few more beers and forgetting about it

If this has started since you purchased the new driver and you are swinging the same then there is something about the driver that does not suit your swing.

Does it have a similar shaft and loft to your old one?

my old driver was 9.5 reg shaft, which i hit to many slices, this new club is the draw, i let a good golfer hit it to see if it was the club and he killed it, it seems i hit it to high

Try some impact tape or spray and see where your impact pattern is on the face, it may be high. You could try changing the ball position forward a little and swinging on a lower plane so that the clubface strikes the ball more level. You could also experiment with tee height, try teeing a little higher to start with.

I will try the tape. So I should be hitting pretty much the center of the club head. I will try all the options that you mentioned. Thanks

It could be a million different things, Chuck. Do you have any video you can post?

Re: need drill on sweeping the ball off tee not hitting down

hi
with the new drivers the sweet spot it about 3/4 of the way up the face and not in the middle of the face as you would think. also you need the high tees if using the big 360cc drivers. if you tee the ball low you seem to put more spin on the ball and it flies higher and you lose distance too.
was the old club a big headed driver too ???
cheers
bill

my other driver was a taylor made R5, 10.5 loft, reg shaft, should the ball be played forward parallel to my left big toe, my new driver the FT i is that a 360cc head

That is a good spot to play the ball with the driver.
