2 bucks...that's too rich for my blood. Yes I have taken it to the range with me and I don't have any friends so, no, I don't get laughed off the range. Honestly, I think when the average golf guy see's me, he pee's a little. I was thinking of building it out of pvc but didn't have any 3/4 inch T's or 90's, so hell man its so easy to just bend a peice of wire with the results being the same. I bet that picture has insired many a hacks like me to bend them a coat hanger.

So if we were both side by side on the range, you with your nice pvc and me with my coat hanger I bent to shape in less than 30 seconds, you think people would take you more seriously than me?

Honestly, I think it’s the most ingenious and most cost effective approach to this product I’ve seen yet. If I had one I think those who would laugh at me on the range would go home and bend a coat hanger themselves.

Re: Homemade swing aid

[quote=ubizmo]I took a skanky old blade 5 iron I had in the garage and a length of concrete reinforcing iron rod that was also in there. I duct-taped the iron rod to the club shaft, from the handle right down to the club head. Voila, a weighted swing trainer club. I didn't weigh it but I'm guessing it weighs 5 pounds.

Excellent - I tried the BB method and the weight difference with the club was negligible. This may be owing to the kind of BBS I used. I will try your method later today!

Re: Homemade swing aid

I've seen sand used effectively for a weighted club.

I've also seen cement used - but it makes for a very, VERY head heavy club. The guy finished filling the shaft with cement, but it was almost too heavy for him to swing.

Thumbs up Re: Homemade swing aid

I’ve seen adverts for the " Inside Approach" golf aid and thought it was a sound idea. However I didn’t like the price, over on this side of the pond it retails at approx. $68.
Found this forum site by chance and saw your homemade version and had to join to tell you it’s
absolutely
brilliant… Can’t wait to get home and make one.
I’ll let you know the subsequent results.
Cheers. Made my Day.
