Question Momentus

I keep seeing the infomercial on The Golf Channel. I wanted to know if it really works or if those guys are just paying the testers to say good things about it. I want to know so my mom(I'm 13) should buy it or not.

Re: Momentus

Hey Gohan,
The momentus is a good tool to help you get your swing path where it's supposed to be. The weight of the club will help you to develop an inside swing path. Here's a $$$ saving tip though. You can get the same thing from a company called Master Grip (www.mastergrip.com). They call theirs the "Groovie", and it's basically the same thing (except for color) for a whole lot less money. That way you can try it and see if it helps you out without spending quite as much.

Hope this helps.

I BOUGHT THE MOMENTUS SWING TRAINER AND THE MOMENTUS SHORT GAME WIZARD. MY VERDICT: WASTE OF MONEY.

Re: Momentus

Gohan,
You can also get a weighted club like the momentus at Wal-Mart for about
$30.00. The thing about this item is that it is heavier than a single club.
Also it is (relatively speaking) so heavy that you have to be Mr. Olympia
to muscle it around. Therefore you are forced to feel its weight and thereby transfering that same feel for the head of the club, as so many golf pros say to do.

You might get it. It couldn't hurt.

Good luck

Tenacious Dee

Re: Momentus

Cressea Will You Explain Us How Did You Waste The Money?
In Wich Way The Momentus Fail To Deliver What Supose To?
The Momentus (my Understanding) Is A Heavy Club To Swing Constantly So Your Muscles (ingrain) The Swing Assuming You Have A Right Swing And Because Force You Golf Swing Muscles To Make A Extra Effort The Became Stronger Wich In A Long Run Make You More Powerfull (extra Distance)
It Will Be Helpful To Us If You Explain How The Device Fail So We Don't Expend $$$$$ Thanks....cheers

Re: Momentus

hi
i have a club with a grip that has you put your fingers in right place and is about 2 foot long with weight on the end, its great for inside the house as i cant swing a club at it hits the ceiling, its good to feel the weigh swing and stops you over swinging or swinging to fast, it cost about £14 and there are lots of them on e-bay too. it does help in the winter months to keep your golf muscles in trim. dont think it makes me longer using it but does get you into a free flowing swing plane without having to think any.
think the momentus would do same but to big for me to swing indoors.

Re: Momentus

Gohan

They are paying testers to say good things, but that doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't work. My online golf store came because I liked a product so much that I started selling it to my friends - it went on from there. You just have to be cautious, and that's exactly what you were - going online to get opinions. Much sharper than I was at 13

As much as the strength training will help your game, I also want to stress how important those weighted clubs are for increasing flexibility. That will be even more important in increasing your length than pure strength will over the long run.

Some offline golf stores carry the Momentus, so go check it out there (and fiddle with all the other cool golf stuff while you're there), then buy the club online.

True, there are some cheaper ones out there, but the Momentus comes with a bunch of extra freebies that you may find worthwhile. They put together a quality club, too. Guess it really depends on your parents' budget.

I agree with your sentiments about the Momentus. Club is too heavy. It didnt help my swing. Advise anyone with back problems to stay away from it.

Re: Momentus

I have a Momentus and i use it soley to warm up before a round.
The momentus is also very good for people who tend to swing too fast, the extra weight slows down your swing speed and gives you a really good feel for the correct tempo , which will improve your timing and shot consistancey...
However , the Momentus will not correct any swingplane flaws.

I recently orderd the power hitter and have had excellent results. It makes a big differnence being able to hit balls with a weighted club. Tempo improves along with balance and release. I have added at least 30 yards to my drives. I am now driving the ball between 240 - 250 yards. I am very excited about this product, it is worth every penny! The instructional dvd is excellent and the quality of the equipment is superb. All you need to do is hit 25 balls with the power hitter and go to your regular driver and it becomes totally weightless. Your swing speed increases and the ball just get in the way.
