Question Software

Is there any software that I can connect my camera to so I can view my swing? I want to know if there is one in the $20-$30 range so my mom can still by me video games. LOL

Re: Software

yes, i use motionview, it works quite well for its price too. motionview LITE has full frame by frame motion analysis and drawing tools for $20 if you want to have sid by side comparison then it cost another $25 that you can buy later, or you could buy it out front for $45. it is the same program, it is just defent liceses you are buying
http://www.allsportstec.com/store.htm

but you can't "connect it to your camera" you put it on your pc and download camera footage to your pc then analyze your swing.

Re: Software

I enjoyed the cSwing demo for the 10 days it's active.

Then I switched to (and still use) V1 home.

I've since bought other tools that make some of the advanced features of either software suite redundant.

Re: Software (The King has no clothes on)

Controversial opinion I know, but am I the only one who is dubious about all this video stuff in golf.

Does Roger Federer use video to check his position on a forehand volley and to see if he has rolled his arm over correctly? I doubt it.

I don't know much about US sport but for those outside the World Series -

Does Shane Warne (arguably the best bowler in world cricket) use video to check his arm and wrist position.

Does Ronaldinho (arguably the best footballer in the world) use video to hone his tricks.

Did Jonny Wilkinson (who made me so happy that November morning) use video before he kicked England to Rugby World Cup glory?

The answer is ofcourse NO. So why do we?

I did once and it showed me all my flaws.

Did it improve my game. Not one iota.

Actually video is being used more and more in sport and I know for a fact that Sir Clive Woodward is a big fan of using video for training methods. I have heard that Gareth Bale at Southampton uses a video playback screen when practicing free kicks, so he can see why a shot went over or wide straight away and not have to rely on trial and error. He has scored 2 beauties, and hit the post with another effort already this year (3 games played).

Re: Software (The King has no clothes on)

Yes, but Roger federer has a coach, jonny wilkinson has a coach to help his kicking technique and you need a video for the golf swing because it happens so so fast!

tiger woods has hank haney and looks at his swing on video for no reason lol! No, he looks at his swing on video so he can perfect it!

Re: Software

yea, even olimpians use video analysis, they have ben since the 70's check out this link and see all the sports that use it....
http://www.sportsci.com/media/default...spx?video=1005
people use it to make their performance more ieffcient, be it golf, track, hammer trow, high jump, tennis... etc

and v1 and cswing are nice, but motionview is very cheap can;t beat $20 for frame by frame analysis and drawing tools

Re: Software

Video analysis of the swing is a great tool if you understand how to interpret the result. If you don't, it can be as helpful as it can be harmful.

Re: Software

Hi Brian,

Which of the products or versions of V1 would you suggest to download? Are they available for Mac versus Microsoft?

Thanks,

Ted

Re: Software

HI,
I'm interested in opinions and reviews of various swing analyzer software available for home use. the only threads I found on the site are 3-4 years old. Can we reopen this discussion and get feedback from the community on what programs are best and why? Thanks!!
