Last night at the PROs Dark clouds are rolling and winter is drawing close in chilly little Denmark. Club courses will close, and Munis will play to holes in the fairway rather than greens. I've got a few pre-paid pro sessions left and intent to use a couple this evening. I'd like to focus on elements that I would be able to go to the range and practice unassisted during the winter. Any ideas what to focus on? I'm a 24.8 handicap btw ... in case it has any relevance. ![]()

Re: Last night at the PROs Thanks, Ian. I've had a good season, cutting 11 shots off my handicap, so I'm very motivated and intend to work hard through the winter. Do you have any suggestions for specific elements I should ask my pro to take a look at?

Re: Last night at the PROs Hi Mox, I have always found it is better to work on anything what you are weak at, stick with that moto and you will get better. After all it no use keep practicing what your good at. Hope this helps Ian.

Re: Last night at the PROs Hi Mox, I'm inclined to let the coach decide. I see mine every two months for an hour. We have a good chat, what's been going well and what hasn't and so on. He checks my set up and so forth. We then focus on what I'm poor in. I end the lesson in short game and putting. My last lesson went for an hour and a half. Most of which was a playing lesson. I'll do this every second or so lesson with coach.

Good, better, best, Never let it rest, Until you good is better, And your better, best. Mox, I carry the same handicap as you do. I consider putting my strong point (36 and change PPR), other than that, everything can use work. My plan is to (along with lessons) work full swing, and chipping. Not so much what the ball does after it lands, but I'm going to work on getting the ball to land where I want it to (chip to pennies, that kind of thing). Just my .02
