Anyone used "The Swing Glove"?

Rick Smith has been promoting "The Swing Glove" in infomercials. It has a hinged metal insert in the lead glove...for me since I am a right hand player that devise would go on my left hand. This particular glove is supposed to help you stop breaking your wrist in a flipping manner at impact. It is also something that helps you cock and uncock your wrist in the correct manner. I have been swatting at the ball with an early release (see my photo above) and it seems that this devise may help me. Any answer would be greatly appreciated.

i used the swing glove for quite a while and occaisionally at the range and my ball striking improved greatly not sure it was all down to the glove but sure it had something to do with it.
i only have small hands so i bought the ladies small. it was a bit of a struggle getting it on but i can assure you it cetainly stopped the swatting!
probably have gained 20-25yds and accuracy greatly improved

I used the "Swing Glove" and found it helpful. However, it only lasted one month before the leather and stitching parted. I wasn't happy with that at all.

I have never used one of these, but what bothers me is the same thing that bothers me with the Greg Norman Secret. It makes it very difficult to get into a proper address position. If you have a flat left wrist and bent right wrist at address you will never get the shoulders square, it is not possible. You should have a flat left wrist , club inline at impact, but impact is very different from address position, they should be that way at the top of the swing, but not at address. Take a look at Tigers swing from above and you can see what I am talking about, look at a lot of pro setups and a large majority of them have the left wrist bent back at address, you must do this to get the shoulders square. If the club was in a straight line with the left arm (flat left wrist) the ball would have to be played way back in the stance, or you would have to have a right arm about a foot longer then the left to still have a square shoulder setup. So unless these gloves somehow allow for this setup at address, which I doubt, because if it lets you bend here at address, it will let you bend else where, but as I say, not having used one, I don't know, just my impression of it.

I have used one. It helped with feed back to show some issues in my grip, during my swing when a poor ball flight showed up. But, as posted above, it did not last as long as I thought it should. I received my mine as a gift, and it lasted about 2 weeks. Then again I practice, and play a lot. When I went to the local pro shop to buy a replacement, saw how much it cost, then I really knew it did not last as long as it should. I suppose if you limited it's use, you could get more mileage out of one. GJS

Thanks all for the comments. It sounds to me that the price for the "the Swing Glove" is out of line with the quality of the product. Apparently it does not hold up after repeated use....So I will not be spending any money on this swing aid. Thanks again for your comments.

I respect your opinion. I am a BIG believer in "The Secret". It totally transformed my game. I modified my swing with the secret. At initial set-up, I allow The Secret to pull back off of my right wrist giving a more natural set-up. Then when I start the swing, my right wrist cups and the secret comes back into position and never comes back off of my wrist.

So, do you think this is correct and are you for or against "The Secret"?

Not sure if I have mentioned this before but a hair comb pushed under your watchstrap and over the back of your left wrist is cheaper.

Good idea, Brian...it should work. I have tried it in practice swings indoors (too cold outside). I just took easy, slow swings and it seemed to be be working for me. Because the old bad habits are not easily broken it will take me some time to change. They say it takes several weeks on a daily basis to make a swing change.

I got myself and my Dad one for Christmas. Bought them both on E-Bay for about $25 from a very reliable source.

To tell you the truth, I didn't feel much of a difference. For some reason I hit the ball better when I wasn't using the glove - I'm confident that's not a good thing as either I'm flipping or something.

My dad used it and played on the courses in Thailand with it, said it helped him around the green, but not much of a difference with the driver and iron shots.

I purchased a different product called "Wrist Firm". It different than the swing glove in that it has no hinge. It works just fine but it looks strange. I use it on the practice range but not on the course. It is made by Scigolf and cost about $37 up to $59 depending where you can buy it. They also have a product called the "Wrist Key" which is basically the same as Greg Norman's "Secret". I understand it does not restrict your right index finger like the "Secret" does. I have not read any reviews on either the "Wrist Firm" nor the "Wrist Key".
