Don't know, so I thought I'd ask...??

Hello one and all……

This weekend I am playing in a 2 Man Ambrose event and have a question that I can’t locate a reasonable answer to.

Given that my playing partner and I are considered a team, am I able to use one of his clubs, should the need arise…???

Cheers

I think that if you share clubs with a partner that you become subject to a 14 club limit between you.

Rule 4.4b

b. Partners May Share Clubs
Partners may share clubs, provided that the total number of clubs carried by the partners so sharing does not exceed fourteen.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE 4-4a or b, REGARDLESS OF NUMBER OF EXCESS CLUBS CARRIED:
Match play - At the conclusion of the hole at which the breach is discovered, the state of the match is adjusted by deducting one hole for each hole at which a breach occurred. Maximum deduction per round: Two holes.
Stroke play - Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round: Four strokes.
Bogey and par competitions - Penalties as in match play.
Stableford competitions - See Note 1 to Rule 32-1b.

No decisions on it in the book, as far as I know...

The only thing I don't know is what an 'Ambrose' is...

Boys are right Scragger,

You can share clubs so long the total between the team doesn't exceed 14.

Cheers

Tanks Lads (and you too VP...)

Thought that was right, just wasn't sure...

He has this new quad driver and I wanted to have a swing with it.

Guess I'll just have to do it on the practice fairway before we tee off....

Given it's a 2 Man Ambrose, from memory our "team" handicap for the day will be a quarter of our combined total. So, his 23 and my 15 will give us 9.5 for the day.

Should be fun and no threat of the handicapper getting us if we shoot a great number....

Excellent
