Re: Rules from 1/1/2008 I think they should have made rangefinders legal, using a condition of comp to disallow.

Re: Rules from 1/1/2008 You mean like streamlining the hazard stuff? I think that was a good move (allowing to ID your ball in a hazard)

Re: Rules from 1/1/2008 Unless otherwise determined by the Committee, priority on the course is determined by a group’s pace of play. Any group playing a whole round is entitled to pass a group playing a shorter round. The term “group” includes a single player.

The tough part will be getting the older gents to acknowledge that I'm a 'group' looking to 'play through', as I'm often playing a full round to boot. |

Re: Rules from 1/1/2008 mmm, I'm not sure, now that you put it that way. FWIW, the committee at my local club is as useful as a driver on a short par 3. The first 6 words doesn't mean anything (case in point: we play 'winter rules' year round at our course. However, in the tiny pro shop is no mention of the fact that we're winter rules, nor on the scorecard. Our course simply doesn't care.)

Re: Rules from 1/1/2008 I got a clarification from the R&A and may have posted it here. I know others had the same advice directly from the R&A or USGA. Edited to say - Just found the post http://www.golf-tuition-online.com/g...m-through.html (Letting them through) But declare UDI. Copy the statement onto a large piece of paper and post it on the 1st tee. ![]() Last edited by aaa : 11-01-2007 at 08:23 PM.
