Some folks just don't get it

I read this in the local news, thought it might be interesting for this community:
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...eating15m.html

It's like road rage on the golf course.

Speed of play is a personal thing. Some folks can't wait to amend for their mistakes on the last hole, some folks have to be at a wedding in an hour, some folks are just not in a big damn hurry.

This one can be looked at from a lot of different angles. Have fun with it.

Cheers, GB

They don't have to have been in a hurry to complain about slow play. They did they correct thing. Instead of confronting the slow group in front (who may have been so slow that they were waiting and waiting over each shot, which is terrible for when you are trying to score well), they informed the marshall, who's "job" is to tell them to keep up.

For the other group to get annoyed and confront the "complainers" rather than take heed of the warning is poor behaviour. That aside a shoving match is one thing, but to hit someone with a club is just pure violence which ever way you slice it. Has that guy got such a short temper that a simple request to speed up slow play and a shoving match makes him snap like that. That was quite the assault and he'll likely not play golf for a while, while he sits in prison and thinks about it.

That said, from the report, we don't know whether the group in front were chronically slow or whether the group behind were "in a rush" and complained needlessly. But to swing a six iron at someones head...wow, just wow.
