Noises

Probably a stupid question: but what are the rules regarding distracting noises?
(e.g. a car drives by on the road next to the teebox and honks his horn as I am just about to strike the ball)

Re: Noises

Noises, including purposeful heckling and/or thowing of objects, other distractions like talking, whistling, dropping of golf bags, etc. is all "rub of the green" ...

"rub of the green" is golf-lingo for TOUGH LUCK!!!

Re: Noises

Just before I swing, I go into a 'zone' where i just concentrate on what I am doing. I get into the zone by ripping the velcro on my glove loudly, then go through the pre shot routine then hit. I hardly ever get distracted by anything because i'm 100% concentrating on myself, nothing else, try it

Re: Noises

If we could only stop folks in a 4 some from taking cell phone calls while playing I'd be happy.

Re: Noises

As long as the noise level stays constant, I'm fine. If people are talking, keep talking. If you're going to be quiet, please don't start halfway through my preshot routine... because invariably I start thinking about the silence.
