Ball laying on a concrete path

Hypothetical for discussion Lads. My home course is completely ringed by a concrete path for buggies. I sliced one today during a practice round and it came to rest on the edge of the concrete path, just inside of the red OOB pegs. Because I was practicing by myself and I didn't particularly want to destroy my clubs, I just kicked it back onto the grass. But had that happened in a competition, what would have been the answer to the dilemma? Would I have had to play it where it lay? Your thoughts ....

Concrete path would more than likely be an immovable obstruction and you would be entitled to free relief under the applicable law, nearest point no nearer with 1 clublength (probably...)

Unless otherwise defined under whatever local rules may be in place at your club...

You're entitled to relief for stance and swing at the nearest point of relief. Drop and play.

Didn't you watch the Buick this week, happened to Tiger of Sunday on 17 I think. You get a drop, it's a man made obstruction. No closer to the hole, free from stance and swing. Tiger dropped three times kept roling back towards the path where he would be standing on it. Then he got to place the ball by hand, they love that, get a really good lie that way.

Second time the ball rolls you place it on the spot if landed on the second time.
You dont drop it a third time.

If you are dropping from a hazard you must let the ball roll back into the hazard before you redrop, you can however substitute another ball in this case.
Personally I think thats a stupid rule, if you know its going to roll into a hazard you shouldnt have to loose the damn ball.

You may stop it before it reaches the water though.

well only if it has crossed the hazard markings.
If the hazard line is right on the edge of a later hazard for example then you are tough out of luck.
Silly rule.
