Ok, so just to clarify, knowing my luck I'll get on a wrong green and into 3 or 4 GUR's next week.....

Taking relief from GUR is only compulsoy in the event there is a Local Rule in play making it so, yes...?

And, if there is a Local Rule in play declaring a temporary green in play, then the original green automatically becomes a "wrong" putting green and relief "must" be taken, regardless of whether declared GUR or not, yes?

Cheers

I would agree, if you are on a green other than the one you are playing to then its the wrong green and you must take relief.

Two points to remembers.
1) You only get relief from a wrong green if the ball is on the green. There is no relief for stance or swing.
2) When you take the relief, it is only the ball that you consider. Not your feet or swing.
