Talking lady out of bounds?

Hallo there,
we have an three- old- boys- matchplay every wednesday. To Phillips and Petres (thats me) great delight, Charly hits his ball not only out of bounds - it is also shorter than the red tee. That means that he pays a ruond after the round. But Charly argues that his ball was out of bounds and as such no longer in play - hence it cannot produce a"lady".
Whats your opinion? Must he pay or not?

Best regards Peter

Peter,

I think Charly should buy 2 rounds, one for hitting it short and another because it was out of bounds. I have a foursome that does something similar, if you can't hit past the ladies tee you must drop your drawers for the remainer of the hole and buy a brew after the round!!!!

technically speaking he might have a point ...his ball is no longer in play and therfore any shot made with it would not count...i mean the poor guy is already down stroke and distance and you wanna have him buy a round....tough group.
