Re: Ball Flights defined

Where's the pull-slice and push-hook? (Both end up pretty much on target)

Re: Ball Flights defined

The definition of a pull is a shot that starts left of the target line and finishes left of the target. A push is a shot that starts right of the target line and finishes right of the target line.pull-slice and push-hook are not common ball flight terms as far as I'm aware. Although there does seem to be many new terms making there way into the golfing vocabulary. I can see were you're coming from though and the ball flights would be as you describe. Nice one.

Re: Ball Flights defined

The only reason I ask is because I find myself hitting a pull-slice a couple times a round with my driver. So it's reasonable to think that if you can pull-slice, you can push-hook.

Re: Ball Flights defined

I think I posted a similar diagram early this year and suggested it something similar should be permanent on the site. The tutorial should also describe why each shot occurs so that people can get a better upstanding of their swing. e.g what the swing plane looks like and how they come into the ball etc.

Good stuff
Paul

Re: Ball Flights defined

You missed out a 'Sally Gunnel' where the ball flight is ugly but goes on and on down the target line, we call em 'pea-rollers' also.

Re: Ball Flights defined

Everything is labelled - black up the middle is straight and the darker blue on the right is the push.
