Over swing
I am a 12 handicap and got into the habit of over swinging. At the top of my backswing i can clearly see the club head out of the corner of my left eye. I have tried to reduce the backswing but in doing so i tend to launch my self at the ball, instead of transferring the weight as i previously did.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Lawriej,

Check your "at the top" position in a mirror. It may not be so much that you are over swinging, but that a. your wrists are over pronated or b. your left arm is overly bent.
