Are 4 magic moves magic?

I saw an ad/link on here for the 4 magic moves. I downloaded the free chapters but not taken it any further yet.

Has anyone else tried this ebook? Any success?

i think that says it all...60 PAGES!!!...probably another 200 plus pages for the other 3 magic moves.seems like a lesson in how to overload the brain.

I have read through the first few pages, doing all the little exercises and I must say that this is without doubt the best piece of golfing literature I have ever read in terms of the physicality of a good golf swing.

It's free.

Take it.

Read it.

Read it again.

As it says (and it almost seems boastful at first) apply it to the letter.

It's long because to accurately describe what should go on in a good, easy, repeatable swing takes a lot of words. But believe me, the whole thing is written simply and as concisely as it can be.

I have not read 3Skills, but I'm one of the guys who likes to understand how and why. There are so many how and why's in the golf swing, to me, my wondering is natural. My confidence of application and correction comes from understanding the how and why. How and why helps my brain execute it. Who does anything without asking how and why? "The foolish" is my answer.

This writing answers it all. It won't overload your brain, it will turn all the lights on at once.

I can't believe it's free.

I was about to say "3Skills has some competition. And it's 45 years old" but that probably isn't accurate.

It seems 3Skills has helped a fair few golfers on here, and if it works consistently, carry on. But for those who inexplicably "lose it" and don't know why, as can happen from time to time, this is the script to refer to.

I dare say 3Skills is a really concise version of these instructions, but then I must ask "how concise is it? It's had a whole book written on it?" Which only leads me to ask how many corners are being cut in the name of being concise?

3 Skills is unlike any book or teaching method I have read and I have read a lot over the years.

The basic concept is that there are 3 actions of the golf swing that every good ball striker makes. The book uses simple imagery to understand these 3 skills and asks you to completely empty your mind to all other swing thoughts other than exercising these skills. The illustrations are very clear and show you exactly what good ball contact means, which is something that most conventional teaching does not cover.

That's cool. As you may have gathered over time, I am a wordy kinda guy! Pictures don't give me feelings like words do. But they have to be the right words, and this text uses words very very well, along with very good drawings to compliment them. To quote a certain Mr R. Keating, "It's only words, but words are all I have......"

Unfortunately, for the purposes of discussion, I am not interested enough in 3Skills to buy it purely to compare it with this. I am not interested in it enough to even buy it to see if it can help me improve.

I think this text has struck a chord with me because it accurately reflects exactly what my coach teaches and my ball striking has gone up several notches in a fairly short space of time.

Having said that I'm not interested in buying 3Skills for comparison purposes, I would be very interested to hear the thoughts of someone who has dived in to 3Skills, as well as read and applied all of the swing method outlined here.

I am absolutely positive you are the man for the job!

good point neil,i needed to know how to hit down(sk1) , got the answers on this site , understood it better , and put it into practice.

Well! I have purchased 3 skills, read the book, wearing the tee shirt and it has done my ball striking some good.

I am not sure if I have read the other article (I read most being the Baby Booming Golf Junkie I am) Is it Joe Dante's 4 Magic moves that uses the early wrist hinge ? If not I will download the free bit

I have no idea who it's by (and I don't particularly care!), and having read the whole thing (I didn't need to download anything, it all follows on in links from the bottom of each page: Introduction | www.newgolfswing.com) I'm not entirely sure what the 4 specific things are that the title refers to, but the feelings the whole teachings describe are very good.

There is reference to the wrist hinge (i.e. how to hinge it and when). Whether it's early or late depends on what one does at the moment, I guess!

Are there only 4?! I didn't count! How ever many "moves" there are, the feeling that the script gives over is very accurate. Well done Wicket for posting it!

Funny you should mention the "hitting down" part. I love that this text says that we don't hit down on the ball, but the downward strike comes from the correct timing of the movements. Lots of people on here could do with heeding this advice, given the number of threads that pop up on hitting down on the ball.

"Hit down on it" doesn't mean what it says. Hitting down on something is different to swinging a club through in such a manner that leads to a downward blow.

Your right - this site www.newgolfsing.com is pretty much the same text in my first post. Just been there and am starting to read through - pretty much the same as the free 60 page download I already have. Glad I didn't do my usual impulse purchase!! A free book - wow!

The Andy Brown site does though have some nice video and audio downloads.

I intend buying the 3 skills shortly so will carry out a compare in due course. In the meantime anyone who has the time (or inclination) to compare 3skills to Dantes theory at newgolfswing, definately interested in your views positive or negative
